I didn't have a chance to watch it, but Stupid in America sounds like a pretty excellent documentary. You can watch the whole thing through the link. Not to get too much into it, but I think the main problem with American education isn't time, money, or curriculum (although those are all factors). It's simply that many people today - not just school-age kids - are too complacent about their place in the world, and don't understand how to better their situation. Please, if you only read one book in the next year, read Dark Ages America.
